Neuropsychotherapy practitioner & Image consultant
Nadia Young
“I have been privileged to work with women throughout my career in a variety of roles, as an educator, stylist, image consultant and a neuropsychotherapy practitioner. Working in fashion for the likes of Louis Vuitton and as a creative director of a high-end jewellery brand, not only sharpened my eye for detail and taught me visual perception skills, it also highlighted the strong connection between our outer and inner worlds. Throughout client sessions I often heard “I look horrible”, “I don’t like myself” comments that most of the times had very little truth from the objective point of view. Whose voice were they hearing? What prevented them from accepting their individual beauty and charm? I also worked with people who used compulsive shopping to fill the void and mask the pain they felt inside. People who put so much pressure on themselves to fit in by constant dieting and excessive exercising that it led to health complications. It was clear that deeper inner work had to take place in order to achieve maximum results and help clients to feel happy in their own skin.
My passion for psychology and neuroscience lead to post-graduate studies in these fields, which opened the way to the unique approach to counselling I provide to my clients. We achieve amazing results by combining the principles of neuroplasticity, evidence-based approaches in counselling like cognitive-behavioural, acceptance and commitment, schema, narrative, emotionally-focused and gestalt therapies as well as integrating appearance transformation if necessary. Our clients report a higher level of life satisfaction and self-confidence. Often changes occur in many other areas of their life including romantic relationships, social life and work. I love helping women to get unstuck and guide them through this change.
I look forward to helping you find a way to a happier you.”
